Full interview with Richard Branson now available on Saab UK website
Richard Branson is familiar to anyone who follows biofuel news or the hairstyles of millionaires. This week, Saab UK sat down with Mr. Virgin for a talk about biofuels, hydrogen and more. Here are my five favorite bits:
- "I am in the lucky position of owning some profitable transport businesses and I feel it is the right thing to invest those profits over the next 10 years in helping to develop the future for those businesses."
- "[Biofuels] could be a great boost for some African economies."
- "I think biofuel could be 20% of all fuel used in Europe and the US by 2020.
- "I have been looking very hard at the carbon footprint that I produce as an individual and I am currently working on making my home - Necker Island in the Caribbean - which is also a private tourist resort into the first carbon neutral island in the Caribbean. We are in the process of converting entirely from traditional power production there to wind and solar power."
- "There are some businesses that can never be carbon neutral and they shouldn't try to pretend they can be and there are others that can really achieve it. But the solution to the issue of climate change is not simply through planting inappropriate trees in the wrong place. We have to be more scientific about it than that."

dear sir, please can you let me have information as regards too trying to find out how i can get help towards conquering a flight? i have never flown in my life,ill be very honest the thought of going on an airoplane really scares me but because my daughter lives in portugal and also my two grankids. i would like to conquer my fear of heights and i dont know who or what i have too do. can you please give me any information and can i try and arrange with someone about a flight somewhere?can somebody atleast try and help because birmingham international will not acknowledge my enquirys? hope to have some kind of response from you or someone soon thank you very much. i do apoligise for interupting you all. mrs cp weldon. email is coleen1954@googlemail.com

enquiry about finding out how to arrange about conquering my fear of heights and would like help on boarding a short flight too see if i will be brave enough to visit my daughter who is now living in portugal and i would very much like to surprise her and my granchildren too? but im affraid and thats why i hope sir richard branson maybe able to give me advice or even perhaps help me in anyway?.thank you very much.

I got your contact through BBC interview when you expressed interest in investing in areas that protect the environment.
I am seeking information on project developing by you to offset compliance targets through the purchase of Certified Emission Reductions (CERs).
My company is headed by Eng. Dr. A.M Sebbit who is an energy specialist and together with specialists from your country we could work to develop geothermal energy resources in Uganda (that has current acute power shortage). Around the rift valley shores of Lake Albert exist a geothermal potential of 450 MW. Landfill gas-to-energy in the capital city Kampala is about 6 MW on the basis of public-private partnership is also possible, with Uganda being the host country.

Sir Richard, sime months ago you sponsered a flight over the atlantic to commemorate the ALCOCK and BROWN flight,I am a desendant of Captain Alcock and would like to know if you have a video of that commerative occation, if so I would be very interested in obtaining a copy.
