Automakers: Ok to gas savings but...
You read that right: Major automakers affirm that they are OK with a proposal in the US for stricter vehicle mileage standards. They still say the standards would cause them financial strains, because they would require "tremendous investments over a sustained period of time".
Dave McCurdy, the president of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers (which includes GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota and 5 other automakers) made this announcement during a House of Representatives hearing yesterday. He also said that the proposed goals were extremely aggressive and difficult to achieve
The nation's major union, UAW, is endorsing the proposal as well.
The proposed plan at the House of Representatives would require passenger cars to increase fuel economy by 8.5 mpg to 36 mpg by 2022 and SUVs, pickups and vans by 7.8 mpg to 30 mpg by 2025.

36 MPG by 2025? and ony 30 for SUVs and Trucks by 2025?
What is this some kind of joke?
I am sick and tired of car companies thinking they can police temselve when they obviously can not.

Oh, that's OK. They don't have to meet those standards. We'll just buy our cars somewhere else.

MY BROTHER WORKS FOR AUTO INDUSTRY. OVER 16 YEARS AGO, HE TOLD ME HE BUILT AN AUTO ENGINE THAT RAN ON MAGNETS. THIS ENGINE WHEN TESTED RAN 500 MILES ON ONE GALLON OF GASOLINE. BUT, ALSO, THIS ENGINE HAD EVEN A BETTER SIDE, BECAUSE PARTS DID NOT TOUCH AND SO LITTLE RESISTENCE, THEY HAD VERY LITTLE CHANCE FOR REPAIRS, BECAUSE IT NEVER BROKE. HE BUILDS MOTORS HIGHLY MORE EFFICIENT THAN WHAT HE SAYS IS THE "OBSOLETE 75 YEARS OLD GAS GUZZLING ENGINE". THEN, THEY SHELVE THE PATENTS.
I HAVE NEIGHBOR ENGINEER, WHO HAS INVENTED AN ENGINE THAT RUNS ON WATER. HE SAYS HIS LIFE HAS BEEN THREATENED. FIRST I HEARD FROM HIM WAS TEN YEARS AGO.
OIL INDUSTRY HAS CONTROLLED THE AUTO INDUSTRY, I SUPPOSE FOR DECADES. I JUST HEARD OF THE ONE INVENTED ENGINE THAT RUNS ON COMPRESSED AIR.
IT IS TYPICAL OF AMERICANS TO PURCHASE FANCY CARS BECAUSE OF THE STYLE DESIGN AND HOW MANY COMPUTER CHIPS IT HAS, AND, STILL BUY THESE VEHICLES TO SHOW OFF TO PEOPLE WHILE IT HOUSES SOME ANTIQUE OUT-DATED CRAPPY MOTOR.
AMERICANS GET WHAT THE DESERVE, WHEN THEY VOTE PEOPLE IN THE GOVERNMENT THAT CONDONE TO THEIR WISHES OF CORPORATE AMERICA. CORRUPTION AND GREED, WILL SEAL OUR FATE IN THE GLOBAL WARMING.

No wonder they're ok with it. They'll gladly "pay us Tuesday (in 2025) for a hamburger today." Too long, too little.

WHY DO ALL CONSPIRACY THEORISTS HAVE CAPS-LOCK PERMANENTLY ENABLED? MAYBE THE GOVERNMENT THREATENED THEIR LIVES WHEN THEY TRIED TO TURN IT OFF BECAUSE OF THE OIL COMPANY MONOPOLY. KIND OF FUNNY HOW THE PERSON WITH A BROTHER AND NEIGHBOR WHO INVENTED MAGICAL ENGINES DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT COMPRESSED AIR CAR THAT HAS BEEN AROUND FOR DECADES, NOT TO MENTION THE TECHNOLOGY TO DO SO HAS BEEN AROUND SINCE THE 1800'S.
