GMC launches Yukon Hybrid site

GMC has recently launched a special area on the brand's product website devoted to the upcoming Yukon Hybrid. The Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon SUVs will be launching with the new Two-Mode hybrid system this fall, the first of many applications from GM, DaimlerChrysler and BMW. The site features some basic information about the hybrid system, some photos and a place to sign up for promotional e-mails from GM about the new hybrids. If you want more information about how the system works and drives, check out the detailed ABG report.

That is one serious waste of technology. They should have made the Equinox a hybrid and this a seriously clean diesel. As it is, this will get a 25% bump in mpg. But that probably means in the real world a bump from 12 to 15 (I have experience with Suburban/Tahoes). That's nothing to brag about. The only real upshot is that the emissions are down. And with a diesel, they could have let people go the biodiesel route.

GM has the new 4.5 diesel & 6L90
The equinox? It needs a new powertrain. 2.4 & 6t40 for front drive, 3.5 & 6t70 for the pump/clutch coupled rear axle drive.
