Venturi to launch electric Fetish and Eclectic in April 2008
Monaco based Venturi showed off a pair of electric cars at the 2006 Paris Motor Show, the Fetish sports car and the decidedly oddball Eclectic. While Venturi has much more modest ambitions than Tesla for their battery-powered roadster they plan to kick off production next spring with hoped-for volumes of fifty cars per year. If you think the entry fee for the Tesla is steep at almost $100K, then you can forget about the carbon-fiber Fetish. Expected to run a cool $600,000 the Fetish will have an even more exclusive clientele. The wind-turbine and solar-panel-equipped Eclectic buggy is a more affordable €30,000 but even that is much higher than the average NEV, which is what it qualifies as.

It's good to finally see some life from the Fetish.
ABG regulars will recall this car has been around for awhile (concept showed up in Geneva in 2002). Claims that they were in production have been discussed here - yet no one seemed to be aware of any in the hands of private owners, let alone any independent test drive reviews.
It would seem this car is getting less exclusive (as if pricetag weren't enough exclusion): They originally called for building only 25 vehicles. Though a claimed potential production of 50 a year still won't make them a common sight on your commute.

Phil is right. . . The Fetish has been touted at motor shows several years before anybody heard of the Tesla Roadster, and there's been a lot of discussion about whether or when any Fetishes had actually been sold. I guess now we know.
There's also been a lot of uncertainty over the price tag, though I suspect currency fluctuations account for some of that.
Suffice to say it costs much more than the Tesla Roadster, has somewhat inferior specs, and it now looks like Tesla will ship cars to buyers first. Venturi has firm orders for six cars, Tesla has deposits for 600+ cars. I'm glad Venturi are trying, but they need to try harder.

I like these cars. I hope they find good homes.
I know you are all thinking $600,000.00 sounds like a lot of money, but by the time they get delivered next April, that will only be about €100,000.00.
