Spy Shots: Honda Civic Hybrid facelift

It looks like Honda's giving the Civic Hybrid a little bit more of an edge in the form of a mild facelift. Up front, the fascia is new, with a three-opening lower intake and a new grille that's shaped like the one you'll find on the Accord and FCX Clarity. A walk to the back of the car reveals what seems to be a new trim piece connecting the taillamps, which are very mildly updated with more ronounced reverse lights. Beyond that, the car looks unchanged. For example, the wheels and profile are identical to the cars on the road right now. It'll be interesting to see whether the appearance updates are exclusive to the hybrid to give it some differentiation, or if they'll make their way to the other Civics as well.

Did they hire that guy from Chrysler who put similar logo with wings on some initially nice looking Sebring convertibles?

Quite frankly I like the current version better, the chopping of the front sides of the bumber looks like a mistake. At this point Honda can probably sell all the Civic Hybrid's they can make (as well as Civic's), update or no update. If they were really smart they would be bringing out a CR-V Hybrid and dominating that market segment.

No more red turn signals.
Can Honda upsize the wheel/tires?
15x6.5 & 205/60 15, please.

That hole in the middle is going to affect the drag coefficient of the car, which will bring the aero efficiency of the car on the freeways...Or what do you guys think??

I totally agree. But then how would it be cooled? Electric fans pulling air from beneath? I have a grill cover on my present Civic for the cooler months, and it does improve mileage. But if I leave it on on an 80 degree day, the engine will go above 200 degrees in the first 10 miles.

Don't care about the face, how about a freakin' fold down rear seat?
