Spy Shots: 2010 Dodge EV out testing already
When we first saw the three electric concepts from Chrysler, we immediately began thinking that the Dodge EV, with its Lotus-based chassis and electric drivetrain from UQM, would be the easiest to get on the road in a timely manner. After all, it would require the least amount of extra engineering from Chrysler. Looks like those early predictions were accurate, as spy shots of the Dodge EV being tested on real roads have surfaced. As you might expect, the Lotus-derived shell has seen some major styling revisions to make it look more like a Dodge, especially in the front end, which now has the familiar Ram-style crosshair grille. In fact, the EV now shares more than a passing resemblance to the Dodge Demon concept from the Geneva Motor Show in 2007 and the Razor that we had suggested may be a good choice of styles to ape. Now that Chrysler appears set to get an infusion of cash from the Feds, we have high hopes that the automaker can actually get an EV into production in short order.

Just like Dodge to take a beautiful car are Crucify... er... Chryslify it.
Hopefully there will at least be an after-market provider for nose pieces to save the poor thing from being hung to death from the Ugly Tree.

Dumbass, you can't judge a car's looks by its camouflaged mule

Listen, John D(umbass), the point of the article was that Chrysler is changing the Dodge EV so that it "now shares more than a passing resemblance to the Dodge Demon concept". Follow the provided link in the article, and see how ugly the Dodge Demon is compared to the Lotus. Those pictures are very high clear.
ANYTHING that moves the beautiful Lotus ANYWHERE towards the Dodge Demon is akin to front-ending it into the Ugly Tree at 100 mph.
Sure, you can come back and say that in your opinion, the Dodge Demon is beautiful, and the Lotus is ugly. To that my response would be to remind you exactly which of the two companies is on it's knees begging for a life-line.
Do you seriously think making it look anything like the Dodge Demon is a good use of Chrysler's R&D dollars? They should put it out as is with Lotus' award-winning down-force and aero-dynamic design work, right now.
I'm actually getting more and more pissed at Dodge every time I look at the two pictures of the Demon and the Lotus. Any company that has exectutives that think morphing the Lotus to look more like the Demon SHOULD go bankrupt, due to sheer incompetence!!

Believe me when I say, this car is going to look better than the Tesla..and most likely put Tesla out of business in the process.
(before even arguing with me, tree hugger, ponder the simple economics of 1 car being the same as another for 1/3 of the price)
God love Mother Mopar!!!

Better looking? That's your personal opinion, judging by other comments not everyone shares that opinion.
The Dodge EV won't have a carbon fiber body shell, and the battery will be smaller so the range will be less and the acceleration slower, compared to the Tesla Roadster - but it will be less expensive than the Roadster and will probably sell better.
That doesn't mean the end of Tesla, however. Consider that there are slower and cheaper sports cars than Lamborghini and Ferrari that greatly outsell those expensive supercars - but Lamborghini and Ferrari are still successful and have stayed in business for decades.

If there is ever a day when Tesla threatens any real auto maker, they will be bought out and killed. You know it, I know it...and the lamp post knows it.
Why pay for the milk when you can get the cow for free? (is currently what smart and Chrysler are doing)

I believe the car in the link provided to the left is the product of this facelift, which is pretty mild.
