Citroën's new Dispatch 1000 L1H1 2.0i 140 brings to five the number of dual fuel (liquefied petroleum gas, aka LPG, and petrol) vehicles in the marque's UK line-up. The Dispatch 1000 joins the Nemo 1.4i X and three Berlingo models in sharing this alternative-fueled capability. The new van starts at £12,965 + VAT, making it the most expensive and largest of the Citroën cargo carriers.

The five vehicles (see details after the jump) are considered Ready to Run Dual Fuel vans and are all exempt from the London Congestion Charge Zone charge. The conversion to dual fuel in the Dispatch 1000 was performed by Nicholson McLaren Engines. NME took out the spare wheel and added a 77 litre LPG tank in its place.

PRESS RELEASE:

DISPATCH – CITROËN'S LATEST ADDITION TO ITS READY TO RUN DUAL FUEL RANGE

With the launch of the new Dispatch 1000 L1H1 2.0i 140, Citroën has further expanded its range of Powershift approved, London Congestion Charge exempt Dual Fuel (petrol/LPG) vans. A Dispatch 2.0i Dual Fuel van is now available as part of Citroën's Ready to Run Dual Fuel van range – which is already the widest of its type available from any LCV manufacturer in the UK.

The new Nicholson McLaren Engines (NME) converted Citroën Dispatch 2.0i Dual Fuel van is priced from just £12,965 + VAT. The technically advanced and very reliable NME dual fuel conversion used has already been proven in Nemo, Berlingo First and Berlingo Dual Fuel vans. The new Dispatch conversion includes a 77 litre LPG tank mounted in place of the spare wheel, with the LPG filler mounted separately alongside the petrol filler. Dispatch 2.0i Dual Fuel vans have the same performance characteristics as the standard petrol engined model and meet both the new European standard R115 and the existing European standard R6701 legislation and are also fully European On Board Diagnosis (EOBD)-compliant.

Citroën Ready to Run Dual Fuelvans all deliver major fuel cost savings, lower CO2 emissions and meet Powershift Band 4 emissions standards and are thus exempt from London Congestion Charge Zone charge, giving additional savings of up to £1,696 p.a. The range now consists of:-

  • Nemo 1.4i X Dual Fuel van priced at £7,945 + VAT
  • Berlingo First 1.4i Dual Fuel van priced at £7,995 + VAT
  • Berlingo X 1.6i Dual Fuel van priced at £9,645 + VAT
  • Berlingo LX 1.6i Dual Fuel van priced at £10,245 + VAT
  • Dispatch 2.0i Dual Fuel van priced at £12,965 + VAT

Robert Handyside, commercial vehicle operations manager, comments, "The new Dispatch 2.0i Dual Fuel van will appeal to those operators who work within London and other major Congestion Charge zones. Like all the other vans in the unique Citroën Ready to Run Dual Fuel van range, it provides major fuel cost and Congestion Charge savings and plays a key role in reducing CO2 emissions."
