Bill O'Reilly challenged by Electric Aid to sign up for an electric car

As someone who avoids listening to Bill O'Reilly, I didn't hear him make a claim last year (when gas prices were high) that he would buy a Prius if he could fit into one. O'Reilly also apparently said that, "No matter where you stand in the climate change debate, everyone should be able to agree that the cleaner the air the better and the less reliance on foreign sources of oil the better." These quotes come from the fun-minded folks over at ElectricAid, who not only listened to the pontificator but also decided to challenge him to do one better: sign up for an all-electric Th!nk City.
To prove that the City would work just fine for Bill, the ElectricAid crew found someone, nicknamed Bob, who is an inch taller than the Fox News star and took pictures of him in the car, with headroom to spare. Bob is also a cello player, and ElectricAid writes to Bill that, "even though he is taller than you, he is quite comfortable in the Think City and there is plenty of room for his rather big instrument." The chances of this open letter getting O'Reilly to sign up for Get Me A Think are smaller than Zeno's dichotomy paradox after a few divisions (i.e., tiny but not nothing), but it's fun to see nonetheless.

He's caustic, abrasive, and I rarely can stand to listen to him, but I usually agree with him. He can afford a Tesla. Why would he drive a think city?Conservatives don't put much stock in symbolism. If the chips are dowm, though, I want him on my side, because what he says makes sense, and I think he would give his life for our country.

Bill won't fit in an electric or hybrid car because his head is to big to fit.
If Bill wanted to "defend" our country he could have signed up and fought in the Vietnam War, but he didn't. He decided to spend a few years at a private liberal arts college getting an "education". Now he huffs and puffs about patriotism while dismissing the plight of homeless veterans who actually served our country.

I agree. I voted for Obama, but I've almost always agreed with everything O'Reilly has to say. This invitation *to order* a goofy little electric car seems ridiculous and seems like a wasted focus on someone that already thinks clean air is a good thing. I read Autoblog Green and consider myself pretty environmentally aware, and I don't want this stupid car unless it was given to me. :\
I think it's a publicity stunt to get the ultra liberals that hate O'Reilly to buy a Th!nk City to be honest.

...as in I agree with jharlan.

You don't like him, I don't like him. There is a very large segment of the population that is on his wavelength. None of you have to carry what you did 30 or 40 years ago, so he doesn't either.
You may not like it and you are not in our society required to agree with it, but he tells it like it is.
I stand by every word in my original post. A Think City indeed!

Very little of what he says makes sense. He's a burden on society psychologically and emotionally. He's also a two-faced, lying sack of shit.

Bill O'Reilly is a clear thinking man. If you don't like him, it's probably because you don't agree with anything. Noz, you're an American hater anyway, so what you say has little importance. The Think City is one of the ugliest cars around. I applaud their efforts, but a car is still a representation of yourself. I shows your character. This is not even an inexpensive car! They are having trouble funding this company and that's because the product isn't attractive. Redesigning it to be a little easier on the eye would help.
Maybe Obama can put a pork barrel bill that all redistribution of wealth include one these little people movers under the Christmas Tree for all the unemployed worker in the USA.

Bill O'Reilly is a superstitious racist cranky old man. The Bush administration largely followed the types of policies Bill O'Reilly endorses and the results have been a massive failure. Fortunately, Bill O'Reilly's followers are largely cranky old people like him that will die off over the next few decades so humanity can advance past such outdated views that had some legitimacy in the past but have long outgrown their usefulness.

Bill O´Reilly is a man of opinion and a man that people have strong opinions of. On both sides of the spectrum as one can see very quick just here on the boards.
Why A Think City you say? Its available to us back here in Norway and since it does have greater headroom than the Prius Bill have previously talked about being to short for him, we felt it was a no-brainer for our challenge.
If he wants a Tesla instead we would love for him to get one. Everything electric makes us happy =) But we have a feeling that he might turn out to be grumpy over the time when he have to climb in and out of that Pretty Little Thing =)

Well, whatever the intentions it's nice to see you're reading here. :)

Bill O' won't buy a Tesla because he's too cheep.
I saw an interview with Bill O's biographer a while back and he said something to the effect of, "There's a difference between being frugal and cheep. Bill's cheep. The man makes millions of dollars a year and under no circumstance will he pick up the check at dinner."
Ernie 2:55PM (4/15/2009)
Yeah, well if he can fit into a Think Electric, he can fit into a Prius. Obviously, he's never tried, has had no inclination to try, will never have any inclination to try, and generally speaking, is snowing you.
He's also a self-serving and closed-minded asshat who, generally speaking, will rant long and hard about whatever the public wants to hear to make a buck. I don't know if you've noticed that yet.

Bill O'Reilly is an old narrow-minded reactionary with little relevance to modern society. He is more of an enemy to EVs than a friend of them. I can't see how he'd ever agree to be associated with this . . . especially considering that the Th!nk is a very small car from a socialist foreign country that gives away a Peace Prize that he views as a complete joke.
However, I view this as an extremely clever publicity stunt. So well done!

of course bill is disturbing & weird, and so is everything he says, everything he says is designed to play on people ignorance and prejudice, dont you think toyota designed their cars to fit most people, anyway trying to be as dumb as the people who agree with him makes my head hurt. The thing is if every opinion you have is based on knee jerk, baseless, prejudice then you might just be a republican

Is there any source out there where Bill was anti-EV???

It is my personal opinion. O'Reilly is a climate change denier, he'll decry EV subsidies for EVs as socialism, and he never indicates anything but scorn towards environmentalists. Other than motivating his hatred toward oil producers Hugo Chavez & Iran, I can't see how O'Reilly can be motivated to support EVs.

While I have difficulty connecting the words "O'Reilly" and "Think", I doubt he'd have difficulty fitting in this vehicle -- much more so than the company of rational individuals.
With regard to cargo space, I understand from court transcripts that O'Reilly has a very small instrument -- one that he often plays while on the phone. The integrated Bluetooth should prove useful in case he needs a free hand.
If he does actually go for it, the manufacturers might consider rebranding the vehicle from Think City, to Menda City.

This makes me laugh. Well done in deed. Electric Aid is targeting us: modern Americans (I'm 29). On the other hand, Fox is targeting the baby boomers, older folks with narrow views (I know there are many exceptions, i.e those who don't watch Fox news).
Fox is not a philosophical entity, but an enterprise. Despite what Bill says, he is smarter than his audience and he knows it.
