Just about two years ago, the crew from Orange County Choppers built a custom motorcycle powered by E85. That bike was paid for by the Iowa Farm Bureau, which obviously has a vested interest in promoting the use of corn-based alcohol fuel.
Apparently, the Teutels haven't given up on promoting alternative energy sources as they've just pulled the covers off the World's First Natural Gas-Powered Chopper at a ceremony near their headquarters in New York. Naturally, this project will be seen by the millions of viewers who tune into TLC to watch American Chopper sometime within the next few months.
We're woefully short on any actual details like how much horsepower the big, air-cooled V-twin engine makes, how much compressed natural gas the bike's tank can hold or what it's range may be, but we do have a video of the bike's unveiling to the employees of the Chesapeake Bay Energy Corporation, which is the company that partnered up with OCC to get the custom bike built. these oversized chrome bikes running on ICE engines are a dying breed. Build an ev bike and someone might care.

This bike pollute 10x less then an equivalent gasoline bike and do not cost more and the fuel can be cheaper and come 100% from north-america . They
( bush, barack, cheney, hitler, saddam, jean chrétien, bloggers, jean charest, gm, ford, chrysler, clinton, bush senior, jimmy carter, jfk, ted kennedey, eiseinower, nixon, yamaha, caterpillar, etc) could have done the same 100 years ago.

This bike is beautiful and efficient. Everyone will choose natural gas for a car or a truck or a motorcycle if it were offered for sale and if fuel cost were cheaper. Don't listen the natural ressources cartel guy's that write here continously, they are paid for that with taxmoney and special state mission( terrorism ).

I live in the hear of the Marcellus shale region in the southern Tier of central NY and the environmental damage from the drilling that has just begun is already evident.
Like oil CNG is no good. The only acceptable energy sources are your feet, the sun, wind and air.
Deal with it.

the company is Chesapeake Energy (not the Bay) and is the country's second largest independent gas producer, headquartered in OKC. That's were the bike was revealed on Chesapeakes 20th anniversary.

Above is a link that has a video that discusses some of the details. In different website, the reporter said it's only capable of a 60 mile distance. 60 miles is okay if you're going for a daily rider, but for a real biker that distance is a joke. Most of the poker runs and bike rally rides I go on are 150 miles or more. It is still in the runnings, distance wise, with the electric bikes I've seen but this one has the motor and the sound that most bikers will want.
It will be interesting to see if anyone is trying to start a company building affordable CNG bikes. I'd buy one, but not for the $150,000 Chesapeake dropped for this one.
I love Oklahoma and I support any initiative for a cleaner tomorrow. I'm very happy Chesapeake Energy produced this bike because I think a lot of people have been wondering if it could be done.
