The new Ford Fiesta is now being offered with a factory-installed LPG option in Europe. This is the fourth Ford model that uses this technology and allows the car to run both with unleaded gasoline and LPG, similar to the new Golf Plus Bi-Fuel. The base model Fiesta uses a 1.4-liter gasoline engine. In the conversion, the spare tire is replaced with an additional 42-liter tank for the LPG. This model has an engine output of 92hp. Since the gasoline tank is left untouched, the Fiesta LPG has a total range of 1,200 km when burning the both fuels. Prices start at €15,490, which already includes the €1,990 conversion cost. The conversions are performed at the Ford's brand new facilities.

As i said early-on, every cars and trucks could have been equip with natural gas for almost the same price except fuel cost and 10x less pollution with north-american fuels. Instead goverments with big-oil have raised a war on mankind with natural ressources false problems and gm, toyota are tools against cheap and efficient and quiet consumers. Consumers should leave gm, mazda, toyota, etc go to the trash can. they are losers and stupids under-powered depressed folks,

LPG gets 10 to 20% less fuel economy than gasoline (which gets 20 to 30% less fuel economy than diesel). We pay as much for LPG (sometimes more) as we do gasoline. My Dad was in the LPG business his whole life, and he told me there isn't enough LPG west of the Mississippi to fuel the cars in Orange county alone. Paying more for a lousier fuel, Its a no starter in the US. If we are going to go that route, nat gas makes a lot more sense. We have huge reserves. I think I agree with Gorr on this one (scary huh!)

I'd rather have the flex-fuel version, thank you.
LPG is only cheap over here because our government heavily subsidizes it.
Once they've finished the natural gas pipeline from Russia to Germany (to bypass the Ukrainian pipelines which are constantly subject to tensions between Russia and Ukraine), there will be a lot of new combined cycle gas turbine plants all over the place because you know, we've abandoned nuclear power and can't replace all of it with renewable energy sources. Combine the increased consumption with the phase-out of tax breaks and you'll see why this isn't really worth it.

I think thats a great idea. I hope Ford Indiaconsiders the same LPG technology for Fiesta sedan in India. Fiesta is a wonderful premium sedan. Having it in LPG variants would add to the environment cause.
