REPORT: GM mulling Tata Nano competitor in Asia

What will the world's cheapest car, the Tata Nano, do to the auto market? Bring friends. We're hearing that General Motors could be planning a Tata Nano competitor that would go on sale in Asia for under $4,000. GM's new executive vice president for international operations, Nick Reilly, told the Wall Street Journal that offering an ultra-cheap car the low-cost space is of interest to the automaker, but only in certain markets.
The manufacturer would likely be SAIC-GM-Wuling Automotive Co., which is made up, in part, of the Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp. Reilly made his announcement in Brazil, though, which is GM's third largest market. So we'll at least keep a tiny ear out for a cheap Latin American model, too.

Hi,
My problem with the Spark is an aesthetic one: it looks "forced". All the styling cues look like they are applied to the surface -- they are skin deep. It's all creases an bulges and STUFF all over willy nilly...
Sincerely, Neil

I agree, this is a BUTT UGGLY automobile! it makes me want to punch it right in the face. I cant believe there are designers in GM that are allowed to create this sort of UGly, they need to be punished

"I agree, this is a BUTT UGGLY automobile!"
Take it in context. This is a $4000 auto designed to compete with the Nano. Considering that, it's not a bad looking car.

It could probably be even cheaper without those grossly gigantic headlights

This is a GM. Any car even the Nano is superior in every way vs a GM.

This is Jubei. He hasn't got a clue of what he's talking about, but don't argue with him- his opinions are equal to facts.

Hi,
I think this post is confusing too -- the Spark is not a $4,000 car. I'm not sure why it was included.
Sincerely, Neil
