Pics Aplenty: Tesla finally drops real images of Roadster Sport

It's been seven months since Tesla first announced its intentions to build the Roadster Sport, a higher performing version of its standard electric sportscar, and the Silicon Valley-based automaker has finally offered up some real high-res images of the EV along with a bevy of details on what makes the Sport extra special.
First and foremost, the Sport's hand-wound electric motor adds a bit more oomph to the already quick Roadster, taking off two-tenths of a second in the rush to 60 mph (it now checks in at just 3.7 seconds). Also included are bare carbon fiber hood louvers and rear spoiler, a push-button transmission selector to replace the aluminum shift knob and a central touch screen that displays estimated range along with the total number of oil barrels saved over a fossil-fueled automobile. That's worth the $20K price increase itself, don't 'cha think?

I really do find the hard roof rather hideous looking. I think it's the straight edge along the window that I find rather jarring.

It's news because the Tesla site had no actual picture gallery of the Sport, just a description. Not sure if they had a rendering...

The pictures you linked to are the regular roadster with the top up. The hard top adds stability and there were other changes as well as they took 0.2sec of the 0-60mph time,
Its not the same car.

Looks like a koenegsisigigig and a lotus went at it and made this. and is it just me or does it look like the steering wheel doesn't line up with the driver seat properly. it looks like everything is squished in towards the middle of the car too. and look how thin the space is between the two seats compared to all the space on the left of the driver and right of the passenger. maybe it's just the photo though.
