Opel adds 130 hp Insignia EcoFlex, 136 g/km of CO2

Opel is expanding the Insignia ecoFlex lineup with a new 130 hp variant of the 2.0-liter diesel engine. GM's European branch has already been offering an ecoFlex variant of the mid-sized Insignia for some time, utilizing the more powerful 160 hp version of the same engine. Apparently, the reduced power level provides some tax benefits in some areas of Europe. The less powerful engine also comes at a price that is €1,100 less than the 160 hp version, which means it probably has less equipment.
The reduced output hurts acceleration, increasing the 0-62 mph time from 9.5 to 11.1 seconds, but doesn't provide any assistance at the pump. The mileage on the EU combined cycle for the sedan and hatchback versions remains unchanged at 45.2 mpg (U.S.).
We will be getting the Insignia here in North America next year as a Buick, possibly called Regal. Unfortunately, it appears unlikely that we will get any of the ecoFlex versions. Instead we'll get a hybrid version.

Every time we reduce CO2 emissions a small tree starves in the amazon.
Save the trees! Drive a clunker.

Following the same logic- Every time Zeph tries to get his head above water in the swimming pool, we should push him back under water so that he doesn't die of thirst.
CO2 is helpful to plants up to certain levels- less than current levels. Adding more does not help them- it leads to acidification and can actually hurt many species. CO2 poisioning is well known in humans. Just because CO2 is needed by plants at a certain level does not mean that adding more helps plant life. Global warming changes weather patterns and ocean currents, which can kill many plants. Adding CO2 to the atmosphere does not help plants.

If you don't know anything of which you speak, Don't Talk.
Greenhouses routinely raise CO2 levels to 1200 ppm to feed and nourish their plants. If it didn't work they wouldn't waste the expense of doing so.
The present depleted atmosphere contains only 385 ppm and is stunting plant growth. Plants evolved in a much more nutritious CO2 atmosphere. So elevated CO2 levels are common and not dangerous then, now or in the future, despite the ravings of tax wanting politicians, and professional doom peddlers, and indulgence salesmen.

Stop exhaling! You're damaging the ecosphere, not to mention taking up resources the world's elite want all to themselves because they need a lot of empty space for their egos.
Carbon dioxide global warming is a con, stop being a repeater and realise we're all being taken on a ride, as usual, by psychopathic patological liars. There's even a science to it, called ponerology, something you would do well to read up on, to realise where the source of all the bs is.
Not that we don't have massive environmental problems, sure we do, including acidification. But it's not CO2, it's that we're DESTROYING the environment directly by cutting down forests, by throwing trash around, by using toxic fuels instead of renewable ones like ethanol and so on. Carbon in the big picture means little, it's just a pretext for a life tax, which is where this is all going and almost everyone knows it.
Now excuse me, I have to submerge, getting thirsty.

But, I thought Opel was going to declare insolvency...
