Renault has finally introduced the Fluence, the four-door model that will replace the Mégane Sedan. If this model looks a bit familiar, that because it's the vehicle that Renault will use in all of the EV projects that it is signing around the world. Based on the Samsung SM3, which is itself based on the previous Mégane generation, the Fluence is built in Renault's plant in Turkey. The model will be first offered with two gasoline engines: a 1.6-liter 110hp and a 2-liter 140 hp that can get an optional CVT. There is a bit more novelty when we get to the diesel options: the 1.5-liter dCi is offered in 85, 90, 105 and 110hp versions, fitted to DPF (Diesel Particulate Filters), with the 110hp version fitted to Renault's new double-clutch transmission, called DCT. Sales are expected to start in 2010.
