Definition of green: Better, stronger, more reliable, 100+ mpg for less money and no maintenance and no pollution. They did that on many thing like transistors, satellite, emails instead of paper plus posts, etc, etc.
Till then, stop any expenditure toward toyota, gm, ford, chrsler, honda, toyota, nissan, porsche, volkz, audi, isuzu, suzuki, kawasaki, lawnboy, caterpillar, freightliner, ships, trains, airplanes, construction bulldozers, nuclear submarines, scooters, bic lighters, coleman camping equipment, nascar, formula one, tata, mahindra and mahindra ( both are polluting the air) , exxon, epa, toyota, ferraris, bosch spark plugs, amsoil synthetic oils, car wax, city busses, plymouth, caddilac, lexus, infinity, holden, saab, peugeot, renauld, fiat, subaru, mclaren, indy, rally, luxury liners, coal electricity, nuclear devises, ethanol, diesel, mexican crude, venezuela crude, saudi-arabia crude, brazilian sugarcane, prestone radiator fluid, etc. All these brand names sell petrol directly or indirectly and are casching money to stay the same and not use green technologies.
If you're so worried about the earth, maybe you should stop breathing...?? Or, barring that (un)fortunate series of events...stop rambling! Sheesh, that must've taken 10, 20 minutes to write...having to sit there thinking about all those things we shouldn't buy...re-reading it to make sure there were no spelling errors...that HAD to have wasted about as much electricity as running a Prius to Winnipeg and back!

The same will probably happen for the fusion hybrid and anothers hybrids.

If it is just a case of communication between the vehicle and the charger they could have added optical data communications very easily.
The sole advantage of the paddle is: it's waterproof.
But the disadvantages? Less efficient due to conversion losses, more expensive than any conductive plug, limited power capacity, not compatible with existing 110 or 220 volt outlets without a bulky and expensive adapter.
Thanks to GFI and other safety measures, conductive plugs are now as safe as the old paddles, yet still have the advantages of efficiency and low cost, and adapters for 110 and 220 volt outlets are also inexpensive.
